You may not see “rugged” and “lightweight” used together too often, but that’s exactly how to describe Steiner binoculars. The fiber reinforced polycarbonate material we use to build our binoculars is very light in weight, an especially important feature during extended periods of use and long treks where ounces really count. But these binoculars are tough, too. The polycarbonate is actually more impervious to temperature and atmospheric extremes than most metals, not to mention its shockproofing value.
